Eat vs It: Food Bloggers vs Food…

That’s it! Or in this case, “That’s Eat” or as a food blog that it is, “This is Eat Pancit!” Food bloggers as we can be… Eat vs it.

Food Bloggers

As “it” is, much like how for instance a known personality is highly referred to as the “it” girl or the “it guy”, “it”-cetera ~ for us? We’re not “it”… Instead, we’re “eat”. We’re not the “it” bloggers; far from being it as a matter of fact. We’re the “eat” bloggers. “A’s” the “eat girl” (she eats a lot but never gets fat). Whereas I, “O”, is the “eat boy” (Yeah! Go and “Eat, Boy!”) “Eats OA” that way…

Anyway, this brings us to bloggers’ credibility. If it doesn’t interest you, you’d most likely veer away from this post RIGHT. ABOUT. NOW…

Food Bloggers

Oh you’re still here… Thank you for taking time to read through and get to know, at least, our standpoint on food and restaurant reviews as food bloggers. You see, there have been issues wherein bloggers’ credibility is rather questioned. More so, for food bloggers, what do we even know about food as compared to food critics, food connoisseur, gastronome, gourmet, restaurateur, cook, chef, et al. to begin with as much as to even gauge food compared to the “exquisite taste” of these mentioned food experts…

First of all, taste is subjective. “Taste is in the tongue of the consumer” remains to be our dictum. As essential food is as a basic necessity since the beginning of our being, we’ve been nourishing ourselves at least 3x a day our whole lives. We believe that’s pretty much a valid credential. We also cook, then eat again, and repEAT…

When it comes to cooking, it seems there’s no ego more bloated than that of the chef’s or the cook’s… I mean, you know, you can’t insult them in anyway how their food was rather prepared, cooked or even how it should be partaken. Not that you’ll intentionally do it, that’s just plain mean; but to “not agree” with factors pertaining to his “masterpiece”, that’s a no-no… Yet, if they’re the ones being critical of other’s “taste” based on their own discriminating taste, why does it seem alright… Considering, as I’ve previously pointed out, “What’s even your criteria for the “best” under the circumstance that, as mentioned, we have varying tastes? The best for you might not be the best for others. It’s limited to your OA – Own Assumption” …as much as a delectable fusion is very much welcome.

“Uy, sabi ni “sikat na chef” dapat daw ganito ang tamang pagkain o pagluto ng ganito…” Really? I mean come on… It’s our preference or isn’t it enough that we also appreciate their food as per our taste as we please? This is how we’ve been doing it ever since and have enjoyed it nevertheless. And now you’re saying, we’re doing it wrong and that it’s “abomination” to the “food regimen and quintessence” you’ve been similarly swayed into believing? That’s just the unreceptive and “OA” (Overcritical Attitude) in all of us… “Eats” our trip

Now, don’t get us wrong or take it the negative way seemingly too proud. Aptly enough, “proud” could mean either way of its inverse definitions – ‘proud’ as in delighted or pleased and there’s ‘proud’ being conceited to be hard-to-please. We’d like to believe that we’re leaning towards the first connotation. And we’re simply living up to being “OA (Overly Appreciative) even of food establishments who are too proud to acknowledge our reviews. Eats err it’s just that we still (and rather) see and taste the good in “eat”.

We’re not about being “the” one to “shove a spoonful of its flavor” for you. Our’s is more of an “Own Appetite (OA)” kind of review for a recommendation. It’s up to your own discretion and taste to conform and confirm or refute and refuse… Then again as pointed out, we have varying taste. Even if, assuming, we’re “it” food bloggers, it’ll be unfair to anyone who’d take our word for it. People might not try it just because we said it’s not good as much as consumers might say otherwise of something we claimed as good… That could be more discriminatory against the concerned food business. Should you find your taste based on something you’ve tried similar to that of ours, then, you could perhaps use our review as some sort of a basis…

And to further expound on such a reputation we’re trying to build on as food bloggers, it’s our “fare share” for the social media generation of today and (hopefully) beyond as we nourish our senses similarly consuming flavorful stories and memories… Thus, it’s how we connect and “collect” eats-periences; not with a “Tupperware”… ’cause there’s only one place for our “Only Adversary (OA)” (“na kanyang kalalagyan”) and that is in our tummies. That’s why as food bloggers as “OA” as we “letter-ally” are, we are “Our Archrival’s” “Opponent’s Antagonist”… We don’t compete with “Others or Anyone (OA)”. We’re only up against food “it”-self.

Right?

Ok, Alright!!

Therefore, we’re “eat”

🎤🎹“Eat B’logga’! Scene ay eat oh, lick at chew it… barkada’y dumarami…” 🎼🎧
